Alumacore offers 3 different louver sizes, 2 ½ inch, 3 ½ inch and 4 ½ inch louvers to best suit your windows. Our louvers are reinforced with aluminum to prevent warping and twisting over time; we have seen both non-reinforced poly louvers and wood louvers warp after years of being installed in a window. The sun takes a major toll on window areas putting excessive heat on the window coverings. Our promise to you is every shutter we manufacture has aluminum reinforcement in each louver. Many companies will advertise aluminum reinforced louvers where “needed” or often times companies will tell a consumer aluminum is not needed until the panel size has reached 30 inches. However, we do not believe in this method of manufacturing after seeing warped louvers over the years. The only way to sell an aluminum reinforced plantation shutter is to actually make a full aluminum reinforced shutter.
