Plantation Shutters in Bonita Springs

Did you know that plantation shutters have dated back to ancient Roman time periods? The shutters in those time periods were primarily used for ventilation control. Plantation shutters eventually received their name from southern plantations in the United States. Due to the constant hot air temperature and frequent rains, the shutters had multipurpose use. Many plantations did not have glass windows. When the shutters were closed, the rain would run down the louvers to the exterior of the window opening. While plantations have come a long way in technology, they still have similar focuses. The primary function of a shutter is to control light. One area that sets Alumacore apart from many others is our dual infused aluminum reinforced polysynthetic louvers, arguably one of the biggest technology advances in our industry. Our louvers and stiles are strong to the core, but our baked-on painted finish gives them a soft to the touch feel. Our aluminum-reinforced louvers allow us to make panels up to 36 inches, which allows you to keep your beautiful view and minimize the number of panels in your windows.
